20th Century Boys is better than Monster.

Yawara and Happy are better than Pluto.
Billy Bat his new series is already way beyond Pluto.

Even the series he only did the art for but might have gave some plot ideas to the author Master Keaton is better than Pluto.

Yawara,Happy,Billy Bat are actual creations of Urasawa.
And Master Keaton is an original work.

Pluto is still Osamu Tezuka world but with Urasawa.Urasawa didn't even want to make Pluto to begin with but eventually caved in and did.
I can see why.
Its not a bad manga or anything its just he really isn't able to make it his own.

I would have rather seen Viz release Yawara or Happy.
Pluto is only going to be 8 volumes though so its not much of a surprise for it come out now.Since its somewhat short.
The final chapter 65 comes out next week in Japan.

Maybe Viz won't delay too long and try to bring out Billy Bat his new series and have the volumes come out shortly after they do in Japan.

But still I'd really like to see Yawara and Happy come out.
Also I would like to Pineapple Army and Master Keaton although the story wasn't his released.

Well, i took the plunge. I was browsing ebay looking for some bargins and found one. Got all of Monster for £30. So once it arrives i'll give it a read.

Hopefully it'll grab me more than the anime did, which i could never get into

Thanks for your kind words, Michelle and Suzu. The ending is something I'm sure that has a hundred and one different theories on potential meanings and I really enjoyed rolling the different possibilities around in my head as I wrote this review over a couple of days.

I'm definitely excited to read both Pluto and 20th Century Boys. I've already heard so many good things about both of them. Hopefully it won't take long for me to find some copies and I can enjoy more of Naoki Urusawa's great work.

What? They called him Lunge? XD It means lung in German. Because of that they called him Runge in the German edition. Thank god! ;)

Very good review. I enjoyed the series, too. The ending was really strange. I still didn't figure out what was going on. I don't think Johan could've gotten away with his injury but I can't seem to find another explanation, save for your theories.

Next you should read 20th century boys! What a great series!

This is a great review, and I enjoy your interesting theories about what really happened at the end.

I, too, highly recommend this series and Pluto, as well.
