Now that you mention it I did get a similar vibe too. Early Inu-Yasha was pretty demon-tastic, great mood. Those who enjoyed the beginning of Inu-Yasha would probably like Dororo, as long as they weren't in it for the romance.

This series reminded me of Inu-Yasha when it was still good (aka when it still had cool demon designs and was almost more of a horror series than action-adventure).
