Review: Winter Demon (Vol. 04)

Synopsis: “Fuyu seeks Takuma to treat Hakuin’s badly infected wounds. The Spring Demon Ryuuto is still wooing Takuma when Fuyu arrives. Fuyu and Hakuin find themselves in the position of matchmakers as Hakuin’s injuries heal. Just when things seem to be going well, there’s a misunderstanding. Now Ryuuto has angered them all. Hakuin decides their old friend Figaru is just the one to teach this evil demon a lesson.”

Different past elements are drawn together in this fourth and final volume of Winter Demon. Fuyu takes Hakuin to a nearby healer when old wounds torment his weakened body. There the two meet the young doctor whose heart is at odds over his feelings for a demon named Ryuuto who has the power to heal but a dangerous sexual appetite. While Hakuin heals, he and Fuyu come to full terms with their current relationship while hoping to mend that of the doctor and Ryuuto with some ‘help’ from their acquaintance, the incubus Figaru.

Review: Dark Prince (Vol. 03)

Synopsis:

Volume three of Dark Prince marks the end of this boys’ love story of demons, gods and princes. Prince Davon is still struggling under the control of the abusive and selfish God, Pharah. Aeon, the young boy believed to be a reincarnation of a man named Rickus, stays at Davon’s side but Pharah wants the boy for himself. But when Davon is unable to convince Aeon of his God’s non-existent good side, Pharah orders Davon to kill him.

Review: The Aluria Chronicles

This is very bad for Gin considering Kakale is a wanted criminal…”

The Aluria Chronicles begins with the introduction of Gin, a pretty young slave boy who accidentally plays a key part in a man’s murder when trying to defend himself. Accused of the crime, he’s sacrificed to a demon as part of a larger scheme. But the demon takes pity on Gin, sensing his innocence, and instead whisks the sacrifice away to a land of mythical creatures.

Review: Treasure (Vol. 02)

Synopsis:
“Alan longs for things to go back to the way they were between him and Patrick, but Patrick can’t forget that Alan had an affair with the former pirate captain. It doesn’t help that Alan has them on a mission to avenge Captain Begardoux’s death. That love that Alan still had for his lost captain is more than Patrick can bear. Especially when he gave up such a stellar naval career just to be with him.”

In this second, and final, volume of Treasure, the newly appointed pirate captain, Alan Falconer, continues his quest to recover the treasure stolen by the murderous pirate, Van Holstein. He’s convinced his lover to leave the navy and join his crew, but trouble brews when a man who looks like the ship’s previous Captain appears and Alan’s feelings are undoubtedly stirred.

Webs continue to be woven here in volume two of Dark Prince. With Aeon safely by his side, Davon goes to the home of his loving uncle to seek safety from his brother, Lor, after finding him trying to steal away Aeon. Meanwhile Lor finally knows all that is going on thanks to a talkative and lusty demon God who wishes to use the power hidden inside of Aeon to overthrow Pharah, the God who holds control over Davon. Unfortunately for Davon, tales of his murderous ways have reached this home away from home and his uncle, the King, wishes to see to it that Aeon is not the next boy to lose his life.

Review: Winter Demon (Vol. 03)

Just how far will Fuyu go for his beloved monk?”

The travels of the demon Fuyu and the monk Hakuin continue in volume three of Winter Demon. Souls of demons they defeated are leaking from the weapon they’re trapped in, so the pair head to the home of the weapon’s creator to find a way to fix the problem. But things aren’t as simple as that with a dangerous journey up a mountain to be had and the incubus Figaru whose unfulfilled lust is becoming life threatening.

Review: Enslaved by the Dragon

Synopsis: “The street punk Noah made the mistake of pick-pocketing a crime lord right before he had a meeting with an embassy official. When crime lord Tokihiko can’t produce his identification he misses the important meeting. Tokihiko has Noah captured with the intention of torturing him to death. When he sees how beautiful Noah is, he decides to make him his slave instead.”

There isn’t really much that can be said for Enslaved by the Dragon that wouldn’t turn into an unnecessary, but unavoidable, drag through the mud. While having a full compiled book one can assume effort was put into it but unfortunately the finished project just really doesn’t show it.
