Digital Manga Licenses Itazura na Kiss

Itazura na KissI just recieved a press release from Digital Manga Publishing about a new licensed shoujo manga: Itazura no Kiss!

I’ve heard lots of good things about this series so I’m looking forward to reading it. Also nice to see DMP’s regular manga line-up (ie, not their boys’ love) getting a new addition.

The first volume of this 12-book series is slated for release in November 2009, with the second coming out in March the following year. You can read the full press release here.

That's just awesome! But, the manga was never finished, are they just publishing it as it is?

I assume that must be the case, Suzu. I hope they let readers know when they begin publishing it that it doesn't have a ending, persay, instead of getting harrassed about it later.

While I haven't read it myself, I have heard that despite not having a planned ending, Itazura na Kiss still plays out to the end well.

I loved the Anime even if it has some typical Japanese Stereotypes(clumsy girl that can't do anything right but still has a big heart, argh!)and plots that sometimes annoys the hell out of me. But in essence it's a really cute love story.

  4. TBH i hated the anime, i found it weak and uninteresting, and the main characters so annoying i wanted to beat them to death with a soggy french stick.

Manga is usually better than the anime, so i'll give it a try, but i wont be holding my breath for anything special. Especially with it not having an ending, thats a very bad start to things. Only a few series i've read that didn't have endings, were any good. I can count them on one hand :(
