Review: Ichigenme (Vol. 02)

Synopsis: “An (apparently) frivolous Tohdou and an (overly) serious Tamiya. They continue to collide and have finally become lovers around graduation. This is their life afterwards. Taking place seven years after the end of the first book, volume two continues to follow the ever-evolving relationship of Tohdou and Tamiya. Both continue their work diligently which often means they don’t get to see eachother as much as they’d like… or as much as Tohdou would like anyway. Tamiya continues to act a bit cold and reserved. Combined with his growing independence through things such as cooking and cleaning, and apparent little interest in sex, Tohdou begins to fear that he’ll have nothing left to offer his lover.

Review: Love Is Like A Hurricane (Vol. 03)

Review: Love Is Like A Hurricane (Vol. 02)

Love is Like A Hurricane’s second volume continues right where the first left us. Mizuki continues with his exhaustive efforts to stop Azuma from overwhelming him but is constantly foiled, swept away in a torrent of love, sudden advances and envy-driven affections. Minor characters continue to add more to the plot and offer short breaks between Azuma and Mizuki’s emotional game of cat and mouse. A side story near the end continues the escapades of the brothers from the first volume as well.

Azuma has taken a strong liking to the spirited Mizuki and now it’s battle of wills, one which Mizuki seems unable to avoid and even less able to win.

Synopsis: “Tamiya meets Tohdou at Reinou University when he is unexpectedly French kissed by him at his zemi’s, or seminar’s, launch party! While Tamiya is somewhat put off by the unexpected kiss, considering the other students were forced to strip, he is grateful to Tohdou and they soon begin a curious friendship. But things become a little rocky when Tohdou admits he is gay and asks Tamiya to become his lover…”

Another in a long line of Yoshinaga’s work, Ichigenme should not let down any of her fans. Contained in its pages are all the classics of the manga-ka’s style, well-written dialogue, several different characters to bounce the story off of and a simple layout for which to follow it all.
