Review: Lost Boys

Lost Boys is a boys’ love take on the story of Peter Pan. Replacing Peter is a spirited boy named Air who leaves Neverland in search of a Father. He finds Mizuki, a rather cynical young man who wants nothing to do with thoughts of flight and fairies, and certainly not Fathers, but Air none-the-less whisks him away.

Editorial: The Sexual Side of Boys’ Love

We're attractive and you like it!In light of lots of different articles and blog posts that I’ve been reading recently, I took a minute to sit down and write down some of my thoughts on boys’ love. I realize the more I write, the more I seem to find I have to say, so it seems safe to say this definitely won’t be the last boys’ love breakdown post of mine you’ll see (lucky you, hmm?).

My editorial-of-sorts post today is a focus on some thoughts of the sexual side of yaois and what I feel draws its readers to it, as well as notes on rape as an erotic story device.

Review: Voice or Noise (Vol. 02)

In volume two of Voice or Noise, Shinichiro continues to lament the loss of communication with Acht, the spirited black cat who stopped speaking after an accident. However his growing feelings for the older man are becoming a bit problematic.

Review: Love Mode (Vol. 08)

Love Mode, volume eight, is a look back at the pasts of some of the story’s most relevant characters. Readers are taken back to the teenage years of Aoe Reiji and his older brother, the doctor Aoe Kiichi, as well as the childhood of Kiichi’s housekeeper and lover, Haruomi. Through tragic events, the characters are brought together and experience anguish at the hands of Reiji and Kiichi’s abusive father, setting the stepping-stones for their personalities and lifestyles later in life.

Review: Dark Prince (Vol. 02)

Webs continue to be woven here in volume two of Dark Prince. Meanwhile Lor finally knows all that is going on thanks to a talkative and lusty demon God who wishes to use the power hidden inside of Aeon to overthrow Pharah, the God who holds control over Davon. Unfortunately for Davon, tales of his murderous ways have reached this home away from home and his uncle, the King, wishes to see to it that Aeon is not the next boy to lose his life.

Review: A Foreign Love Affair

Ranmaru has just been wed to the daughter of a rival yazuka clan but he seems less than enthusiastic over the prospects of it. Instead he runs about the cruise ship they wed on, getting into fistfights and stirring up attention with his refusal to wear anything but his traditional kimono. It doesn’t take long for him to catch the eye of Alberto, an Italian with a love for the Japanese. It doesn’t take long for the suave, and drink buying, man to whisk Ranmaru into his bed for some ‘cultural exchange’.
