Modernizing the magazine serialization made famous by Charles Dickens, today TOKYOPOP will debut PSY*COMM volume 3, with a new chapter serialized weekly for free until the series concludes its story arc. The launch of this new volume of PSY*COMM marks the debut of TOKYOPOP’s online manga program that will include continuing volumes of BOYS OF SUMMER, EARTHLIGHT, KAT & MOUSE, PANTHEON HIGH, UNDERTOWN, GYAKUSHU, and others.

The new manga series will debut in 2010 and will include ARATA: THE LEGEND by renowned manga creator Yuu Watase, MAOH: JUVENILE REMIX based on the original story by Kotaro Isaka with story and art by Megumi Osuga, and HYDE & CLOSER by Haro Aso. Gardena, CA (July 20, 2009) – Digital Manga Publishing is excited to announce their special guest for Yaoi-Con 2009, prolific yaoi mangaka, Makoto Tateno! Makoto Tateno has long been a fan-favorite of the yaoi community, and she is pleased to be coming to the US to meet her fans in person this October! Her published works in the US include: Hero Heel (June’), Steal Moon (June’), Blue Sheep Reverie (June’), Angelic Runes (DMP), Red Angel (DMP), King Of Cards (CMX) and the much loved Yellow. In another first for Tateno, Digital Manga Publishing will be putting out her first DokiDoki comedy title, Happy Boys, which revolves around the lives of five young men who work in a butler cafe’, and was recently made into a Japanese television live-action comedy series. This will be Makoto Tateno’s first appearance at Yaoi-Con!

To coincide with Tateno’s US appearance, Digital Manga Publishing is also proud to announce the reissue of Tateno’s first yaoi title in the US: Yellow. Collected into two omnibus editions, The Yellow: Omnibus Edition v.1 collects the first two volumes of the series into one special collection, with some new content. For fans who attend Yaoi-Con, they’ll get their hands on advances of this reissued title first, and they can get it signed in person by Makoto Tateno!

Comprehensive Edition Will Debut As Miyazaki’s Latest Animated Film Hits Theatres In North America This Summer

San Francisco, CA, July 17, 2009 – VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media), one of the entertainment industry’s most innovative and comprehensive publishing, animation and licensing companies, has announced the publication of the first of a new collection of essays, interviews, memoirs and manga from legendary animation director, Hayao Miyazaki, titled STARTING POINT: 1979-1996. STARTING POINT: 1979-1996 has an estimated street date of August 4^th and will carry an MSRP of $29.99 US and $34.99 Canada.

The book will cover the first-half of Miyazaki’s legendary career, during which he rose from humble beginnings to create some of the most seminal animated features ever made, including Nausicaä Of The Valley Of The Wind, Castle In The Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service and Porco Rosso, as well as his launch of Studio Ghibli. A fitting introduction is offered by John Lasseter, the Chief Creative Officer at Pixar and Walt Disney. Ponyo is Miyazaki’s newest feature film and will be released by Walt Disney in North America this August.
